John “Jack” Freeman has an extensive background in facilities and operations spanning over 40 years. Currently, as Vice President of Facilities and Operations Jack is responsible for state of the art building systems and a “Gala” floor system. Previously Jack built and operated Rentschler Field UCONN East Hartford, CT and athletic and recreation facilities Northwestern University Evanston, IL.
Currently, the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts San Antonio, Texas is a versatile world class performing arts facility located in the nation’s seventh largest city.
The Tobin Center features a state of the art, multi-purpose 1,738 seat (2100 seat with flat floor configuration) performance hall, a 295 seat studio theater, and an outdoor performance plaza with ar 18’ by 36’ video wall.
The Tobin Center features a Gala floor system which allows the HEB Theater to convert from a theater configuration to a flat floor. It allows for cabaret seating, special configurations for symphony, ballet, opera, galas, meetings, and performances.
Further, the acoustics in the Tobin Center allows for the HEB Theater to be tuned to fit the performance and the physical set up of the hall. Sound insulation also allows the Tobin Center to host events in all of its areas at the same time
