Josephine Márquez
Josephine Márquez began her career in the theatre at age 19 as a professional lighting designer for Ballet, Opera, and Theatre. For the past 27 years, Ms. Márquez has worked as Theatre Consultant and Owner’s Representative on a multitude of projects all over the globe. During her consulting career Ms. Márquez has been Principal Designer/Project Manager for notable projects such as the renovations of Avery Fisher Hall, The Juilliard School, The New Victory Theatre, and the Foxwoods Theatre in NYC, as well as for Centro Nacional de las Artes and Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City. Ms. Márquez was Owner’s Representative for Stern Auditorium Audio System Project at Carnegie Hall, and Owner’s Representative and Owner’s Theatre Consultant for the home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, at the AOL Time Warner building in New York City. Other projects include The North Fork Theatre in Mattituck, NY; the Renovation of the Barton Test Theatre in Westtown School, Pennsylvania; the Black Box Theatre at Drexel, Philadelphia; Le Poisson Rouge multi-media art cabaret, NYC; The Town School Renovation, NYC; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Ms. Márquez holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts, and a Master in Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Technology, from Florida State University School of Theatre. She belongs to the National Association of Broadcast Engineers & Technicians, Society of Television Lighting Directors, and the International Alliance of Theatrical Employees. J Márquez Consultants is certified as a Minority & Woman-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE). She won a gold medal as part of the design team at the Prague Quadrennial Theatre Design Exhibit and Competition, and has given seminars in Tokyo, Japan; Mexico City; and the Seville Opera in Spain.
