Heather McAvoy
Heather McAvoy, ASTC, is a Principal with Schuler Shook Theatre Planners, leading its San Francisco Bay office. Prior to joining Schuler Shook, she was President of Landry & Bogan Theatre Consultants. In 34 years she has consulted on over 250 projects. Favorites include the Thomas Theatre at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Mandell Weiss Forum at La Jolla Playhouse, Portland Center Stage at the Armory, Clayes Performing Arts Center at CSU Fullerton and Roble Gym Complex at Stanford University. Her practice is informed by extensive experience in lighting design, stage and production management and technical direction. A graduate of Stanford University and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, she is a lighting design member of United Scenic Artists and Vice-President of the American Society of Theatre Consultants.

Her theatre planning career melds her love of performance production with her roots in construction as the daughter of an architect mother and contractor father. She is passionate about supporting theatre programs in her community and local schools and serves on the Board of Directors of the Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company. She lives in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains with husband Bruce Krempetz and a lot of cats. She has 4 adult children and one grandchild.
