Adam has surpassed 30 years of theatre consulting, coming from an education in architecture coupled with work in technical theatre. Adam founded The Shalleck Collaborative in 2003 and has since worked on over 350 projects of all scales and types.
His career followed a linear path: He did a stint at ARTEC Consultants in 1989 after a year-long internship with S. Leonard Auerbach & Associates, to which he would return for another 14 years. He became a licensed architect and Fellow of the American Institute of Architects along the way and has spent the entirety of his career equally steeped in the assessment and conception, design and implementation of auditoria and other performing arts, entertainment and educational spaces and technical production systems.He established and hosts a semester-long San Francisco Studio for architects and serves on the Advisory Board of the Virginia Tech School of Architecture + Design (his alma mater).
